My collection of geek related internet tidbits. Tech stuff, Sci-Fi, girls dressed like Princess Leia, Comics, funnies, and occasionally I'll pepper in some James Bond, girls NOT dressed like Princess Leia, product reviews, how to's, and social commentary.

MOTOROLA XOOM SUPERBOWL COMMERCIAL
Wow…I have to say that my Anti Mac culture proclivities aside, this was a brilliant commercial. This Ad team took a huge jab at the zombie culture that is Mac Life or iLife or whatever the frak they call it. The thing I like the most is how they did it without the smug hipster douche standing next to the stuffy business man shtick that Apple normally used to attack their competitors. I am anxious to see how Apple responds. How do you attack Google/Android or Motorola?
So, I know that I have been somewhat of an absentee blogger as of late but I hope that this amazing Street Fighter, Ken vs Ryu badass-ness makes up for it. This is freakin’ AWESOME!
Big Bird on his way to become a 10 piece bucket.
Gonna watch one of my favorite geek movies. Good night and feel free to click through the pic to watch with me. Low res but I’m watching on a netbook so whatever.
My gawd I can’t wait for this game to come out. Another character is revealed here and I have to say that up to now, I was most excited by Dante and Deadpool. Phoenix is definitely the queen B. Wow! Check out her moves and keep the nnnnff-ing to a minimum.
Marvel vs Capcom 3 Character Reveal | Phoenix
Phoenix from X-Men has been confirmed for the Marvel vs Capcom 3 roster. Check out her trailer!
GAMMAGEEK’S BEST OF 2010: Best Cosplay
You want to talk about a difficult choice. I saved this for last because I had way too many excellent submissions to choose from. Based on quality of costume, accuracy, and hotness, I had to go with this excellent representation of Morrigan Aensland from Capcom’s Darkstalkers series. She not only hit the bull’s eye with the costume but she totally embodies the succubus part of the character. Pale skin, ample bosom, and mesmerizing eyes (which of course are shopped) all adds up to a lifetime of enchanted servitude…I could think of worse ways to go.
GAMMAGEEK’S BEST OF 2010: Most popular post on my facebook wall.
This video is one of my favorite things that I have posted this year. I am adding it to my best of because it is the single post that I got the most requests for from my friends who don’t frequent blogs or the internet much. Aside from that, the comedic value alone is enough to get it included so here it is. Live Avatar Role Playing.
A different kind of LARP for a different type of geek. Last week I posted a delightful video of some kids playing live action role playing…D&D style. Well, these people take it a step further. Live Avatar Role Playing sheds a whole new light on a wonderfully hilarious concept….for us the viewer that is. Enjoy.
GAMMAGEEK’S BEST OF 2010: Best Movie Trailer
While this year didn’t see too many good geek movies released in theaters, it did wait until the end of the year to bestow upon us one of the most anticipated movies of the year…and in some cases, of the last two decades. Kick Ass was great and Scott Pilgrim was awesome but you have to admit that when you first saw this trailer with your volume and subwoofer pumped up, you couldn’t wait to see this 3D Imax masterpiece. Enjoy the show and track by Daft Punk.
Daft Punk - Derezzed Trailer from the upcoming Tron:Legacy. OMFG! Excuse me while I …. hhhnnnffff…
GAMMAGEEK’S BEST OF 2010: Best Geek “Etsy”
This award goes to the best home made creation with the g33k in mind. While I posted many brilliant creations this year, this one absolutely takes the cake. Some guy with way too much time on his hands spent 3 years modding an R2D2 shaped Pepsi dispenser into an entertainment center with 11 integrated gaming consoles, a projector, and 8 way sound! This is too sweet for words.
Geekgasm!! UCLA is doing it right!
R2D2 home entertainment center integrates 11 consoles, projector
Brian DeVitis, a UCLA mechanical engineering grad student, has spent the past three years modding a giant R2D2-shaped Pepsi dispenser into a home entertainment system with eleven integrated game consoles, a projector, and eight-way sound.
GAMMAGEEK’S BEST OF 2010: Best Rick Astley Related Video
Words cannot express how much I appreciate the day that this video appeared on my screen. I actually ripped this to mp3 and have it on my ipod. Enjoy.
My blog needed some tunes. This has to be one of the greatest mashups of all time.
GAMMAGEEK’S BEST OF 2010: Most EPIC FAIL
According to my completely arbitrary compilation of stats, seeing people FAIL has become the number two internet pass time behind pr0n and just ahead of looking at pictures of cats doing strange non-cat like things. This idiot’s tattoo has got to be one of the funniest geek related FAILS that I have ever seen. Here is a guy who decided that he wanted to permanently mark himself with the gamer geek staple that is the Shoryuken. He then went to the artist and was so amped up about his new tat that he copied down the wrong move and before he knew it…he had EPIC FAILED and will be forever “Doing it wrong” all in one sitting. For those of you who dont know, the proper sequence is →↓↘ + Punch.
I don’t like to use this phrase, but there really is no other way to caption this…
EPIC FAIL
